A sweeping transformation is underway on Treasure Island, reclaiming the former Naval Station into a vibrant, sustainable, and connected waterfront community. When complete, the redevelopment will feature 8,000 new homes, 300 acres of parks, trails, and open space—the largest addition to San Francisco’s park system since Golden Gate Park—and a lively mix of cultural and community spaces with unmatched views of the Bay Area’s landmarks.
This tour begins with an eight-minute ferry ride to Treasure Island, followed by an inside look at Isle House, the island’s first high-rise and tallest building. Designed by David Baker Architects, the 22-story residential tower anchors the new neighborhood with pedestrian-friendly edges, a hospitality-inspired lobby, and a seventh-level indoor-outdoor amenity suite, all oriented toward panoramic views of the Bay, bridges, and skyline. Pedram Farashbandi, Principal at David Baker Architects, will guide the building tour.
The experience continues with a guided walk through Waterfront CitySide Park, a ¾-mile linear park along the island’s edge designed by CMG Landscape Architecture. Chris Guillard, PLA, ASLA, Principal at CMG Landscape Architecture, will share insights into the park’s promenade, the planned Cultural Park, and the island-wide open space system that connects public life to the water’s edge.
Meet at the San Francisco Ferry Building no later than 10:30 AM to take the 10:50 AM Treasure Island-Yerba Buena Island Ferry to Treasure Island. Ferry ticket: $10 round trip
